Day 7

Hi gang. Good news - the remains of the Nanny (the half that didn't beach itself the other day) were pretty far out in the breakers today, which left the shore a Nanny-free zone during low tide. I was able to find many smallish treasures OTHER than cockles. Tulips, lightening whelks, fighting conchs, apple murex, lace murex, bubbles, drills, cones, augers, cerinths, mac-n-cheese, and a few more whose names escape me at the moment. Mostly juvenile-to-tiny, but what da heck - they're gastropods, YAY!

The best part is that it was all more or less right in front of my hotel - didn't have to tramp all over, which is good, because believe it or not, today was (and continues to be) a working day. Well, gotta do what I gotta do, I guess.

Tomorrow's another working day, but I'm off Tues, Wed, and Thursday to (respectively) take care of the closing, meet utility people at the house, and then return to Long Island for the actual move.

Hey, I just realized, I don't have to pack and take home shells. I don't even have to pack and take home clothes. I have a house I can leave that stuff at!
