Day 8

I was bad on Saturday night.  I smoked way too many cigarettes.  It was all Topper's fault.   Seriously, I'm going to have to watch it, hanging out with smokers.  Anyone who ever smoked knows it's a chain reaction - someone lights up, EVERYBODY has to light up.  Next time, I bring the timer with me

I'm walking the beaches every day.  Not at any kind of pace, mind you.  But for two hours at a clip each day, there I am, tramping up and down the sand, in and out of the water, with my net in one hand and the little mesh plunder bag in the other, doin' the Sanibel Stoop.  Well, I don't stoop, cause it's bad for my back and my neck, so I squat instead.  I think by time I've lived down here a few months, I will have developed excellent squatting muscles.

Took a walk on the beach just a while ago (gotta let housekeeping in sometime)  and I am pleased to report that The Nanny is severely incapacitated and not going to hold on much longer. Yeah, she's lookin' mighty wispy out there, and she's hardly a bother at all.

Found some decent stuff on the sand, even though the low tide is not until much later this afternoon. I even found a perfectly intact fig, which was flippin' amazing to see, sitting there all lonely among the bits.

I could hardly sleep last night, and finally gave up and watched some TV. I can just imagine what I'll be like tonight - tomorrow is closing day!  Yes, that's right folks - after I sign on the dotted line tomorrow, I will be a homeowner like the rest of y'all. A slave to the old mortgage. Time to grow up, I guess!

Wel, back to work, work, work. I'm going to try to make part of the low tide, just to get out there on the beach. It's a glorious day!
